Three steps, in this order.

  1. Check the letter is real

    Search the company above to find its official filings, then use only the contact details from the official copy of the notice.

  2. Act on what was exposed

    Social Security number: consider a credit freeze. Payment card: ask your bank about a replacement. Password: change it wherever you used it.

  3. Watch for a settlement

    If a class action settlement opens, its official website states who qualifies and the claim deadline. See open settlements.
